BYRNE Miko Kimono & Shorts Outfit EXCLUSIVE Release for Swank Events September “Tokyo Mix.”

Originally, the word "kimono" was the Japanese term for clothing.

The traditional kimono first came into existence during the Heian period (794-1192 AD).
Today, the word “kimono” is specifically used to reference this traditional Japanese clothing.

Over time, as the practice of wearing kimonos in layers came into fashion, Japanese people paid special attention to how kimonos of different colors looked together.

As such, they developed a heightened sensitivity to color.

Typically, color combinations represented either the environmental,
the seasonal or the political class colors to which a geisha belonged.
It was during this time that traditional Japanese color combinations evolved.

The Byrne Miko Black Kimono in Flora that I am modeling reflects the Nami patterning,
layering and environmental color theme of this splendid outfit in modern context.

The Miko Kimono & Shorts Outfit is EXCLUSIVE for Swank Events September “Tokyo Mix.”

This banded V-neck printed kimono comes with a layered
& sheer patterned skirt with back Otaibo bow and booty shorts.

The Byrne Miko Kimono comes in three different environmental themes –
Sky, Floral and Sea in both black and white versions.

It is materials enabled and designed for Slink, Belleza and Maitreya Fit Mesh Avatars

When I look at this beautiful Miko Kimono, I think of nature and its biophilic influences.
The term Biophilia means love of life or love of nature (bio=life/nature + philia=love).

The concept originated as a scientific hypothesis introduced in the
early 1980's by Harvard biologist Edward O. Wilson.

Biophillia is a feeling which is innate within us all. It is the instinctive satisfaction we experience through our contact with nature - like the experience of sitting on the beach looking at a sunset, when walking along a nature trail or by a stream in the forest.

The Japanese are very good in using nature’s beauty to express this. Natural colors and patterns can be used as powerful fashion design elements which can express a range of beautiful emotions. It can instill a sense of calmness, well-being, melancholy or happiness.

The repetitive fan or "Nami" (wave) patterns on this kimono are derived from nature’s equations. These are called “fractal” patterns. Fractal patterns in nature are formed from chaotic equations containing repeating patterns of complexity and magnitude.

Fractals are a natural wonder – both iterative and recursive. I love how it is masterfully
woven into this modern-day interpretation of the kimono.

The Obi, Obijime and back Otaibo are wonderfully done with
each theme having its own unique color attributes.

Pink Ice Proudly Presents the Gabriella Mesh Halter Top & Pants Outfit - 100% of Proceeds Going to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)

This Pink Ice Gabriella two-piece outfit is comprised of a stylish
mini mesh halter top with matching low rise mesh fitted flaired pants.

To appreciate the fabulous styling attributes of this outfit,
it is befitting to look back in time.

During the 1960s and 1970s there were many changes seen in
the fashion world. It was a time when conservative leisure
dressing was no longer considered as prestigious.

Instead, the fashion forward period was inspired by the space race -
ushering in a wide palette of colors & material technology advances.

Scandalously low hip hugger pants were born. Pants cut low on the hips,
instead of the waist, revealed the sensuous curve of girls’ bodies with bare midriff.

These belly-button exposers arrived during a high time for androgynous fashion,
with both men and women exposing their skin… and loving it.

This dramatic style was the first to reveal the midriff in a casual way,
shocking the conservative world, stirring up trouble in everyday wear.

Hip huggers not only hugged the hips, but highlighted the belly button
in a bold fashion move. First worn by the daring models, hip-huggers found
their niche in the swinging 60’s, when revealing the body was “de rigueur.”

Fast forwarding to the 21st Century, the styles that we now see pants are not as
low as those in the 1960s.  Today's waist is somewhat higher with banded trim or belts,
giving off the illusion of low-cut pants while covering a bit more of the body

This Ice Pink Gabriella Top and Pant Outfit is a modern day interpretation,
reminiscent of that period only with more gorgeous flair and styling attributes.

Although the pants are worn "riding" low to expose a suggestive peek at the buttocks,
they are just being slightly “cheeky.” This outfit was created with a rich, sexy &
stretchy sheen fitting materials look, giving it a vogue and sophisticated appearance.

I love the trendy high neckline of the halter and how the material of the top
gathers at the collar. The halter collar goes scrupulously well with its black
back cross straps and the waist & cuff bands of the pants.

This outfit comes in Red, Blue, Black, Purple and Pink Silver (as modeled).

Selene Creations Kyoko Suit & Shoes Exclusively Premiered at Swank Events September Tokyo Mix

History has influenced our thinking as to the body suit styles we wear
today, and in ways we might never could have imagined.

The evolution of the body suit has reflected societal attitudes
towards fashion trends, modesty and sensuality.

In the early days of bathing, modesty prevailed over form and function.

The one-piece swimsuit's cultural influences stretches beyond the
Japanese modern girl movement, dating as far back back as the Roman Empire.

K-tarsis Design's Sakura 2 Japanese flower tattoos evoke both beauty and peacefulness

This Kyoko Suit is a scantily clad interpretation of
the kimono with its obi and obijime wrapping the body’s midsection.

Do you prefer a one-piece or a string bikini?  Surveys have indicated
that 7 out of 10 women prefer wearing a one piece over a bikini.

So, if you find yourself somewhere in between and if you want to show off
a bit, this Selene Creations Kyoko suit is the one to do it in.

While the one-piece once offered extra protection for those of us who felt a bit
self-conscious, this Kyoko suit is far from the traditional in appearance.

Sexy, cute & daring like the anime character Kyoko Kirlgirl,
this Kyoko one piece suit is perilously revealing -
from its strapless plunging tulip style neckline to its high-cut hip
design, it bears a few of your most intimate assets.

The Anime Kyoko Kirigiri is the Ultimate Detective in Danganronpa.

The Kyoko Body Suit HUD has 12 color-change options while the Shoe HUD provides you
with 12 color change bow options and your choice of black, red or white sock options.

Designed exclusively for Swank Events Tokyo Mix, this fabulous
Selene Creations Kyoko Suit & Shoe Outfit has eye-catching and
figure-flattering designs to show off your beautiful Second Life curves.

Swank Events Premiers the Destiny Style SAORI Micro Mini Dress for September

The Destiny Style SAORI micro-mini in peridot is small in length, but huge in impact.

This stunning micro mini club dress is part of Destiny Style unique micro-mini
club dress collection now premiering at Swank Events for September.

Its fresh Japanese aquatic patterning is at once elegant and sophisticated.

Personally speaking, I find this to be one of the finest and more
stylish of micro-mini club dresses that I have seen in Second Life today.

Its look gives the beautiful woman in you the micro mini
club dress that you deserve. Sexy is as sexy does.

The word “Saori” that Crash Uladstron used to name this dress is actually a
contemporary hand weaving program now practiced around the world.
It is a program in which everyone can express oneself freely as an artform.

Speaking of expressing myself freely, it usually it takes me a few shots of tequila
before I can even begin to feel at ease wearing such a skimpy dress like this.

However, if stylized correctly it can be worn comfortably after only one shot. LOL.

Seriously, this micro mini is so freakin’ sexy in appearance  with its deep
plunging & unique halter neckline, outrageously low cut back and split hems.

Whoever thought that a little mini like this could be so sexy, so innovative at once?

A micro-mini dress is all about showing off your legs.

This Destiny Style SAORI Mini Dress certainly delivers. This ultra tiny micro-mini
dress is cut short with splits at the sides to show off all of your leg.

With your legs on full display wearing this micro-mini dress, adorning
the right hosiery can go a long way towards streamlining the legs.

Whatever you choose, you should prioritize making your legs look their best.

Many women misconstrue tight and short for serious sex appeal.
However, more and more women are beginning to understand
that gamine and charming can be a look that really brings the heat.

The Destiny Style SAORI Dress is also perfect for a night
out on the town. It is the sexy party dress which all of you
Second Life Clubgoers can easily throw on and have some fun.

This micro-mini dress can be complemented in a way that makes
its fun-loving characteristics also its most attractive qualities.

Bare legs with this micro-mini work well, but there is nothing wrong
in wearing it with tights or leggings for a more sophisticated look.

Like I did, you can also pair it with vintage boots - emphasizing charm,
playfulness and the joy of life over overtly expressed sex appeal.

ITI's Yaho Tokyo Lips Meet Avada's Undereye Blush at Swank Events September

Dollying it up with the Avada Piero Makeup Applier

When it comes to cosmetics, I absolutely love finding new looks. Here in Second Life,
it is so much fun to compare and contrast all of the different makeup styling approaches.

My fashion nerdy heart is all about discovery and passing along those findings to my readers.

Japanese fashion and make-up have inspired beauty lovers around the world for centuries.
From the charming perfection of the geisha to the funky colors of modern street
trends, Japan has its own unique and often-copied sense of style.

Hence, the Japanese Street Scene reveals so many zany and wonderful forms
of self-expression with make-up. From heavy to soft applications, the different
strengths of lashes, the brow differences, the lips… Holy Cow! I could go on and on!!!

The eyes and lashes have become more pronounced. Insofar as color, the street trends
are shying away from the darker tones in favor of embracing more softer pastels.

In Japan, make-up has gotten more "dolly-like" in appearance, favoring
undereye blush highlighting to achieve a softer baby face.

The Avara Kokoro Make-up adds subtle stars in soft pastels to your look

Avada’s Akai ten makeup draws upon that same concept.

Its undereye blush with a subtle symmetrical array of white sparkle
accents the cheekbones, giving your face a pretty, youthful and fantastic glow.

The lips have always been seen as the quintessence of female beauty and power.
Insofar as style, we in the States have long loved the plumped-up pouty look.

On the other side of the world, however, the exact opposite is true.
In Asia, the dolly look is popular - so little lips and big eyes are the goal.

The gradient-lip is a finish that creates the illusion of a smaller and cuter mouth.

This look is the latest beauty import hittng the shores in America.
It makes you look young, pretty, and innocent.

The Yaho Tokyo exclusive lipstick collection by ITI features 12 gorgeous
gradient-lip swatch shades to complement your cosmetic foundation and appearance.

I love the merged liner and lipstick look of these Yaho Tokyo lips.
Combined with Avada’s undereye blush, it is a stunning combination.

It is definitely a departure from old school glam but very fun nonetheless.

Paisley Daisy Sweet Street Dress Collection Now Premiering @ Swank Events September 2017 - Japanese Street Fashion for Fun and Flirt

The street scene in Japan has metamorphized into a vast diversity of fashion
subcultures. The looks can be over-the-top cute and colorful to extremely dark.

The heart of the Japanese street fashion scene is Harajuku. Countless designers,
global trends, and fashion subcultures got their start in this small neighborhood of Tokyo.

Harajuku remains the heart & soul of the Japanese street fashion scene.

From haute couture to hardcore sneaker heads, from styles inspired by fairy tales to
the cyber future, it is a cultural wonder and one that is forever evolving.

This Paisley Daisy Sweet Street dress collection reflects this playful fashion phenomenon.

Joeylin has put together a collection of three colorful & artsy print dresses: the Sweet Street Panda Dress; the Sweet Street Blondie Dress and; the Sweet Street Hot Pink Holler Dress.

These dresses feature a cute ruched & buttoned bodice with peek-a-boo black scallop lace hem, short buttoned black-trimmed shrug and short black laced hem skirt.

This is a very cute collection of dresses. In Japan, they would be considered one of the more fashionable and cutting edge styles. It is the perfect dress to go shopping in Harajuku.

Aside from the solid Hot Pink Holler dress, the Sweet Street Blondie and Panda dresses both focus on mixing different patterns, bright colors and artful elements to create a unique look.

It also leaves you with some of your own sweet street styling touches for both fun and flirtatious flaunting. I stylized my outfit with an adorable panda hat, cute baxter glasses, gloves, snuggs and a pair of fabulous strappy high-heels.
